We manage three museums, the State History Collection and a statewide community history program. There’s always lots happening in and around our museums. Explore the rich and different State History Collection and what it has to offer. History Believe of South Australia undertakes labor on a range of brief and long term research projects. Our landscapes and these stories grip markers and memories from those who were here before. These become anchors for many of us now living in a more fragmented world. Accepting and appreciating our connection with those who came earlier us and what they did is critical to who we are today and how we act. We are shaped by our former and our identity as South Australians is made up of the threads of many stories woven into one intricate tapestry. We also partner with other Australian museums to present exhibitions. In support of South Australia’s community history network of committed volunteer associations and local history specialists, we manage a Community Museums Program and donate annual grants for research and writing to promote the value of history and our place in the world. Every year we donate South Australia’s History Festival a statewide celebration of community history, collections and heritage. We partner to present huge community events such as the Bay to Bird wood vintage vehicle run and other events, festivals and celebrations on South Australia’s cultural calendar. Aboriginal people have a history that extends millennial into the past. We confess that Aboriginal lands and sovereignty were not recognized and that building a shared understanding of history is critical to reconciliation. We affirm our role in reconciliation as an essential portion of Indigenous and nonIndigenous South Australians co creating a certain future.

History Trust of South Australia researches, preserves and presents the history of South Australia. We manage three museums, the State History Collection and a statewide community history program. We are perpetual offering exciting programs and events, either at our head office, or across our three museums including fresh exhibitions, education programs, talks, tours and more. It is a deposit to discover the many identities of the people of South Australia through the stories of individuals and communities. The Museum explores many fascinating stories behind the people and vehicles that have shaped Australia's motoring history. History SA staff members are engaged in research on the history of the City of Adelaide to develop content for the Adelaidia digital history project. History SA are currently busy with the School of Art, Architecture and Design at the University of South Australia on the pilot stage of a project documenting the built, social and environmental history of the City of Adelaide. Bound for South Australia explores what it was like for the people on board the first nine ships to sail from England to South Australia in 1836. The History Trust of South Australia is a different and exciting place to work.
